Excellant service from First Choice although the actual loan approval was a little rediculous. My wife and I have always had credit scores of well over 800 and yet we were forced to provide additional information beyong what was reasonable in this situation, at least until I said "enough- approve it or not just let me know which so we can take other action".

Joe and his team are very professional. Available anytime I had a question and was very polite and patient with me. I had a lot of questions! I have used Joe and his team two other times in the past on refinances. His closing times were always fast, but this time I used him for a purchase. I wasn't sure how fast he was going to be able to get the loan done, but he did not disappoint. The loan was ready in less than four weeks!

My whole experience with Joe Shamie/First Choice was excellent. I'm not very good with financial matters, but Joe Shamie was wonderful about explaining everything so I could understand and he was very patient with me. He made this whole experience easy and pleasant, which I know is not always the case. Joe did all he could to get me a good rate. Joe also was so easy to reach even after hours we would text back and forth if I had more questions. His secretary, Dawn was also very helpful. I would highly recommend Joe Shamie and First Choice.

This is the second time we have gone with Joe Shamie because of his professionalism and excellent explanation to the loan process. He answered all our questions multiple times and was always available when we needed him.

Although I liked working with Joe during the loan process, I was disappointed after the loan was processed: 1. The entire loan package with all sensitive info was emailed as an unsecured pdf attachment. I specifically asked the lender do not do it unless they password protect the file. The lender said that they would use their secure system to send the documents to me. However, I received my final closing documents as an unsecured email attachment. 2. The lender did not inform me that the lender fee is significantly discounted for Costco members. 3. The lender ordered an expedited service twice to get the payoff information from BoA. This is the most expensive way to get this information. Per BoA’s website, the payoff statements are issued for free unless an expedited service is requested. There was no need for the lender to order these statements twice using the expedited service or at least I should have been offered a choice whether I want to pay for the service that cost money. 4. The rates at this bank are not the most competitive and the lender’s fee is high, so shop around.
