ALCON, I felt rob of my dream... Mr. Tony Hernandez, my loan officer, assured me that he did not foresee any issues with my loan because it was a simple VA loan. On December 16, 2020, Maronda Homes gave me a closing date for January 29th, 2021. I sent my missing loan required documents on January 5th, 2021 to the loan processor, Jennifer Bonds. By January 15th, 2021 I already locked in my Loan Estimate. As always Mr. Hernandez assured me that I will be able to close on the scheduled date. With that said, I voiced to Mr. Hernandez my interest in proposing to my girlfriend on the closing date, this entails having her and the family fly from Puerto Rico to Florida. On the week of closing January 25th, 2021, I started worrying because I have not heard back from FBC sense the day I locked in my Estimate. On January 26th, 2021 I made my first attempts to reach out to Jennifer Bonds and Mr. Hernandez with no success. On January 27th I reached out to Mr. Hernandez again in which he replied he would call me back, he never called me back, I texted him a reminder and twice he replied he would call back, never did it happen. On January 28th, 2021, LATE night 7:32PM, WHILE I was waiting at the MCO airport lobby to receive my family who just landed, I received a call right there and then from a total stranger to me from FBC, Cristal Britt, Regional Processing Manager, to inform me that I WON'T be able to close on January 29th, 2021. You can imagine my disappointment, with what face could I tell my family that just flew over from SJU Puerto Rico, that they flew and missed workdays for nothing. Not only was I not closing on January 29th, 2021, but because of Mr. Hernandez previous constant reassurance I already had schedule to turn in the keys of the apartment that I was renting on the 1st of February 2021 and I had EVERYTHING packed. At this point I was practically homeless, thankfully the Landlord let me stay another month, that is another month that I had to pay full rent $1,425.00, an expense that I was not counting on... nor sleeping on the floor and eating out every day after the January 29th, 2021. Although I wanted to check with another bank, I pushed forward with the FBC loan even after this great disappointment and the added financial stress they have cause. To be mentioned that I have not hear from Mr. Hernandez since January 27th, 2021. Crystal Britt with Sherri Fields, operations, aided me on my loan and did everything to expedite the process. They tried to have me close on February 5th, 2021 but it was impossible due to the VA appraisal request, they told me I may be able to close on February 12th, 2021. I received the clear to close on February 10th, 2021. This is when finally, Mr. Hernandez decided to reach out to me, 15 DAYS LATER! He tried to explain himself, even telling me more than I wanted to hear, that Jennifer Bonds, my original loan process, got fired; I could not care less about pointing fingers, I understand there were extra ordinary circumstances with Jennifer Bonds that prevented me to close on my initial closing date, January 29th, 2021; BUT please why not reach out to me on time so that I could have my family travel on another date. I find it impossible to believe that no-one notice that I could not close until the day before, especially when it took Mr. Hernandez 15 DAYS to speak to me after the incident. I went into financial stress and emotional distress, what was supposed to be one of the most important and happiest days of my life turned into a nightmare. I close on the February 12th, 2021, completely by myself, I do not even have a single picture of that day, and it was my FIRST home... I am terribly disappointed. Last time I spoke to Mr. Hernandez, he told me to email Crystal Britt and himself an explanatory email and to list out my expenses during that time to MAYBE reach out to their supervisors and give me some type of assistance, but my pride had prevented me to do so. I still find myself trying to stabilize myself financially... Hopefully this survey has good quality control and whomever is reading this reaches out to the right person to somehow make this right. If not, trust me I am never recommending FBC MORTGAGE, LLC to any of my Soldiers, friends, co-workers, family members, etc. I would hate to post this on social media, moreover because I am an active duty Soldier. Very Respectfully, Benny Y. Quinones Ortega
