If you're getting a mortgage, go to Spencer! Spencer! He has a no-nonsense approach to the mortgage process and will get you through it. He consistently provided me with updatesd on my mortgage application and provided incredibly accurate insights throughout the entire process. Spencer provided me with cost-effective options to get the best terms on my mortgage. I've bought other properties in the past but never had a competent team like Spencer and his colleagues.

I worked with Spencer starting in May 2020 on a new construction as their preferred lender. While the home was in construction, Spencer and his team worked to keep me informed and my loan current throughout the process. They took the extra steps to call or text if there when there was something that was time sensitive. Due to building delays with the pandemic, my loan closing was adjusted twice, but Spence and Lisa worked to keep me posted and things moving to ensure that we had the right loan lock period and things in place when it was back on again. I would definitely work with Spence again for the purchase of another home and highly recommend FBC.

Please understand that really don't relish in giving anyone a negative review. As a first-time homebuyer the experience was just less than ideal and I was stressed the entire time. My realtor begged me to use her preferred lender because she said her lender was extremely responsive and communicative and she knows I would have the best experience. I told her no thank you, I'm already working with a lender and I'm comfortable with him. That was a big mistake. Spencer just wasn't as responsive as I felt a lender should be, especially when there were hiccups in the process 10 days before closing. There basically was no sense of urgency on his part when I encountered a problem. He didn't respond to or keep my realtor in the loop at all, forcing me to be the go between for him and the realtor in order to keep everyone on the same page about what was happening. The day before closing the title company calls me and says they haven't received necessary paperwork from his team and my closing may have to be pushed back. Luckily it didn't, but once again no sense of urgency. As a first time home buyer, it just felt like my little loan wasn't a priority at all. I'm extremely responsive and returned all paperwork in a timely manner. When I was asked to produce a document that I couldn't produce 10 days before closing I emailed him and called to see how we could salvage the deal and make it to closing. I received an email saying he was busy and would call me in the morning. Morning comes and still no call from him. I had to call him to see whether or not I would have a place to live in 10 days. Luckily we were able to salvage the deal but the sense of urgency when there was a major hiccup was just not there and it certainly made me feel like my little loan wasn't a priority. I understand loan officers deal with multiple clients at once but overall the customer service could have been better.

Spencer is very knowledgeable, informative, patient and kind. There were some issues with title of the house, and being a first time buyer, of course this made me nervous. Spencer was there to answer all my questions, and put my mind at easy. Spencer and his team worked diligently to make this happen for me.
