Back in June our mortage was purchased by a company called Shellpoint. In spite of having made on-time payments, these hacks have been sending us harrassing letters since June, stating that we were in default of nonpayment and they were going to proceed with foreclosing on our property. Mind you, after countless phone calls and wasted hours of us corroborating our bank payments to Shellpoint, and them assuring us that they went in and "manually adjusted the account" and we were "all set now," we continued to receive harrassing letters on a weekly basis!
After filing complaints with The Better Business Bureau, The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and RI Housing, Shellpoint finally responded with a "sincere apology" and admission of their inaccurate record-keeping. If you are ever considering doing business with this company, avoid them at all costs! We did not choose them - our mortgage was sold to them as often happens.
Here is my response to their "sincere apology:"
Shellpoint has ONE JOB TO DO, and that is to keep track of customer payments, and YOU CAN"T EVENT DO THAT!! Your record-keeping practices are beyond subpar, and quite frankly they STINK! You have wasted countless hours of my valuable time deferring my attention away from matters of actual importance such as work and family as I answered innane questions from your uninformed/misinformed employees, who make promises of adjustments to the account after we provided our accurate bank records, only for us to receive more letters from your terrible company. In plain English, you suck at your job. It is no wonder that your online re*****tion is hellacious. You have no business being in the loan collection business. I will see to it to join in the chorus of terrible online reviews of your company. Shame on you! You have been sending harrassing letters to my family since you purchased this loan from SLS back in June 2024. Exactly what the hell is wrong with you people?? You should not be in this business if you are unable to maintain accurate recording-keeping. I wish you had never purchased our loan and will seek another company as soon as possible. In addition, in spite of BBB, CFPB, and The RI Housing Authority stating that this issue has been resolved in our favor, and confirming we have, in fact, been up-to-date in our payments all along as our bank statements have indicated, I am completely confident that Shellpoint will screw this up, and resume sending harrassing letters once again. Avoid Shellpoint AT ALL COSTS!! Shellpoint is a joke. They are the worst company with which I have ever conducted business. THE ABSOLUTE WORST.
