As first time homebuyers, we were very apprehensive about the mortgage lending process. Fortunately, through working with Samantha Miller at FBC - Pittsburgh, we had little to worry about. All of the steps to follow were clearly presented to us, and we were kept informed of major landmarks throughout the process. We couldn't have done it without her guidance!

The information and communication between the mortgage company and us was horrible. Even after locking the interest rate we were not told that its locked until asked. Also the documentation never ended and they made us wait till the afternoon of the day they would close. Their late approval and communication costed us having to wire transfer money at the last minute to pay the down payment.

It was mostly a positive experience. It helped that I was proactive and checked in with them from time to time to see what else was needed and what the next steps in the process would be. The loan officers were helpful and responsive and when I did so. Our closing was an hour late getting started because the builder and title company said they had not recieved the necessary paper work from the loan company. We had to wait while it was emailed to the title company and processed there prior to being sent on to the office we were waiting in.
