Unfortunately, I am very displeased with the service provided by Deb Elfrink. Other than the initial intake telephone call, I would have never spoken to her again had I not called. Her assistant is wonderful in requesting documents, although does not explain why certain things are required (ie, a letter of how long you lived at an address over a decade ago). Deb sends documents for you to sign but does not explain them. she locks rates for a very short term making me believe there are incentives to do so. My realtor had to stay on top of her regarding deadlines. If I did not have such a great realtor or have any knowledge of the process, Deb would have made this process even more torturous than it already is. I do not believe she is looking out for customers, just getting paid to do as little work as possible.

Deb Elfrink answered all of our questions, returned every call in a thoughtful, timely manner and made herself available during the entire process. She responded early in the morning, late at night and even on a major holiday. I absolutely recommend Deb and FBC Mortgage to anyone and everyone. FBC Mortgage is truly an outstanding organization.

Questionable credit report charges never explained. by

The closing costs statement that was sent to us the day before closing had costs which were not computed correctly. On the day of closing, while the closer had the correct statement (with corrected math), no corrected statement was ever sent to us prior to closing for review. Additonally, there was a huge difference in estimated and actual fees charged for the credit reports, so I asked Deb about the charges. While she forwarded me a copy of the credit report invoice, I had to send follow-up emails a couple times since I never got a reply from her. She said she would get back to me once she heard from the credit report agency, but I never heard back from her and never did get an answer to my question concerning the credit report charges. [During the loan process, Deb did respond in a timely manner to all my questions, however once we closed (after we got the statement of charges), she wasn't very responsive to my emails.]
